Booking appointments, ordering medication and accessing your medical records online
From 6th September 2023, if you are over 16 and have an online account, such as through the NHS App, NHS website, or other GP online services and apps, you will automatically be able to see all future information entered on your medical record. Some people can already access this feature, this won't change for you. This only applies to records from your doctor (GP), not from hospitals or other specialists. You will only be able to see information from 6th September 2023 or your Registration Date (if you have registered after this date). These changes only apply to people with online accounts. If you do not want an online account, you can still access your GP health record by speaking with reception who will be able to guide you in the most appropriate way. The changes also only apply to personal information about you. If you are a carer and would like to see information about someone you care for, please speak with reception who will be able to guide you in the most appropriate way.
Further access (historical)
If you need further historical access then you will need to bring two forms of ID along with proof of your address to the surgery and ask for a form to complete, your GP will then authorise this access (if appropriate) usually within 28 days.
